Their day started just a short walk away from the reception venue at their home where Lydia was getting ready surrounded by her bridesmaids. With your typical wedding the bridesmaids help the bride get into the dress but the best part of the morning was the fact nobody knew what the dress looked like so it was a surprise for everyone. The bridal shop (www.carolsbridalcarlisle.co.uk) offer a service called "Dress the Bride" where they attend the morning of your wedding to get you into the dress which helped keep the dress a secret for Lydia's bridesmaids.
So if you know Martin or Lydia you will know how crazy they are about sheep so it was no doubt that their wedding day would include some sheep related theme already but with their house decorations I was able to include sheep in the bridal preparation photos too!
Time flew by and it was already time to head off to the church so we loaded up the car and headed up the motorway to Arthuret Church, Longtown to meet Martin who was waiting patiently for his "Bo Peep" to walk down the aisle. This church is amazing with how much natural light it lets in and at the alter end there is a HUGE stained glass window and when I saw that I knew what photo I wanted after the ceremony!
After the group shots in the church everyone headed off back to Carlisle to The Shepherds which is when the sun decided to creep out from behind the clouds to allow for some lovely intimate shots of Martin & Lydia in amongst the trees outside the venue. To finish off the perfect day and to kick the disco off there was a huge conga train to Vengaboys: We Like to Party (Vengabus).
Below is some previews of this magical day, I'm really looking forward to getting stuck into the rest of the photos and delivering the memories of Mr & Mrs Greenfield's Fairytale wedding <3
